Around 880 species of reef dwelling and migratory fish frequent Baja's dive sites, making it a spectacular underwater zoo and haven for soft corals, mollusks, invertebrates, mammals, etc. From the short walls to the sea mounts, you are guaranteed never to exhaust the variety of sites, day or night. Each dive is unique. whether it be a wall, sea lion dive, rock and sand mix or graduated slope, you will always remember it for some special reason. Soft corals abound in the form of sea fans, and black coral. Colorful hard-corals are not common however the abundant fish are never lacking.

Coronado Scuba Diving
Twenty five minutes from Loreto is the Coronado Island an inactive volcano, the ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Within the national marine park is the one where spectacular sightings are close at hand. Jumping dolphins and gliding formations of seabirds are a thrill to encounter in their natural habitat. The lava formations at the east side of the island is the perfect spot for corals, tropical fish, birds and marine mammals to hide out.

Carmen Scuba Diving
Carmen Island gives the impression of consisting entirely of salt, and indeed the salt mine - discovered in the era of the Spanish missionaries - has been called the largest in the world. The first concession for recovering salt at this location was granted to the missionary Salvatierra at the beginning of the 18th century. The salt works is still in operation, and there is also a village where the salt is loaded for shipping to different parts of Mexico and foreign markets.

Danzante Scuba Diving
Danzante Island very close to Carmen Island, is a natural bird refuge. It's a great draw for birdwatchers, divers and people who like kayaking, which is also a popular activity in the waters around Monserrat and Santa Catalana Island
